OUTDOOR HEATING
An outdoor heater can provide long-lasting comfort to your backyard, adding warmth as well as a nice look. Take your pick from a growing randge of modern and traditional designs, available in a variety of fueling options, including propane, natural gas, electric and wood.
TIP: Consider the cost of the fuel in your area before making your choice, along with the size of the area in your backyard that you want to heat.
FIRE PITS
An outdoor fire pit is another way to add both warmth and a cozy feel to your backyard, making it a great place for family and friends to get together. Fire pits are made from a variety of materials, including steel, cast iron, copper, or stone, and like standalone outdoor heaters, can be fueled by wood, propane, or natural gas.
TIP: Look for a fire pit with a good ventilation system, to minimize the amount of smoke going into the air.
BACKYARD FURNITURE
Once you’ve made your backyard warm and comfy, it’s time to consider what type of furniture that you and your guests will enjoy the most. Choose furniture that works for different occasions, so you can easily switch seating arrangements as needed, giving you more flexibility with your outdoor space. And because the furniture in your backyard will be exposed to the elements, make sure it can withstand the weather.
TIP: Be on the lookout for furniture that is UV-resistant, waterproof, or rust-resistant, as needed.
